The region of Jest'eire is one of the most stable in all of Tyran'tou. Once a base of operations for one of the largest forces in the nations, the mountain homes have become an epicenter of both military and diplomatic might.
The citizens are a complex mixture of Humans, Demons, and Elves. The elves are constantly trying to prove themselves better than the humans, and the humans are always proving themselves physically and in rare occasions, magically, stronger than the elves. The demons, on the other hand, are older and more self righteous than either of the races, and spend the majority of their time living in sin as all are supposed to. Though there have been conflicts now and again where the humans would challenge the demons for the city, or the elves would manage to capture a demon and make it into a servant or slave, the majority of the power base lies with the native residents of the realm. The demons of Jest'eire are a more manipulative sort on the physical level, and it is not uncommon to see even a young demon with more than one human or elf at their side, ready to die to protect their "master."
The city itself, built into the walls of the Gryphon mountains, is a complex architecture. The outer layers are just the beginning, and the residential sections of the homes are set above the most vicious, deadly crevices and canyons in the realms. Sharp, jutting rocks and demon made formations and wards layer the lower levels of the city-state, and beneath the surface of the outer layers of the mountains is an intricately designed cave system for transporting supplies and livestock, aka people, in and out of various areas without being seen or having to bother with trying to hide from possible spies on the neighboring mountaintops. Only the most hearty of the races can call this place home, and for that reason it has turned out some of the best warriors of all three races to war for the darkness realms.
